How Smart Skill Academy works
A straightforward, three-stage process designed around the reality of running a new business in Croatia while still trying to do the actual work.
Identify what you actually need
Most new entrepreneurs don't know what they don't know. That's not a criticism. It's just the reality of opening an obrt or j.d.o.o. without a business background. The first thing we do is help you map your knowledge gaps honestly.
A short self-assessment covers the main areas: invoicing and VAT, cash flow, financial statements, administrative organisation, and working with your accountant. You answer honestly. We identify where to focus.
Choose your modules and learn at your pace
Each of our five modules addresses a distinct area of business knowledge. They're designed to stand alone. You don't need to complete Module 1 before taking Module 3. If your specific problem is understanding what your accountant sends you every month, start with Module 3.
Sessions are structured around real Croatian business scenarios. Not hypothetical textbook examples. The actual forms, the actual deadlines, the actual questions that come up when you're running an obrt in Zagreb.
Apply it to your actual business
Knowledge that stays theoretical isn't useful. Every module ends with a practical application exercise that uses the kind of documents and situations you encounter in your own business. You practice issuing invoices with the right fields. You work through a simple cash flow statement for a month that looks like your month.
The goal isn't to turn you into an accountant. It's to make you a more informed business owner who can have a real conversation with their accountant, understand what they're reading, and make better decisions with the information available.
